Why Salt & Light?

​Our Mission Statement:
We are striving to create a community based on being Salt & Light: living in such a way it makes others want to know more & shines the light on who God is and what He did for us. ​
Our Vision:
The war room is built for connection. That connection requires commitment, to yourself & others. To become who God created you to be. ​
This is OUR RESCUE story & we want to give hope to those out there feeling like they don’t know their way out, but know they were made for more.
Living in a Miracle
You know that moment you wake up & say “I think today is the day I’m gonna blow my world up?” No? Just us? Unfortunately, we found out it’s not just one moment or even one choice that leads to that life altering moment when you are sitting in front of your spouse saying, “I want out, I don’t think I love you, or there is someone else.” The list goes on. ​Or in our case, not saying out loud that you are dying on the inside.
Ironically, after being together since we were 19 & 22, we actually really did like each other and had a “normal” marriage on the outside. Until we didn’t, because we didn’t know who we were as individuals so there was no way we knew how to be good spouses.

Shannon was on our bathroom floor praying for God to let her out. Ian was also working on his own exit strategy. The kind that most marriages don’t come back from, infidelity.

A lot of little moments had added up to this one. Separation, hurt, anger, the list goes on. BUT GOD.
​​
God took the pieces of what we had broken and patiently put them back together in only a way He could. It wasn’t easy, it didn’t always feel great. But that beauty on the other side of the storm is indescribable.

We are here to let you know there is hope in what feels hopeless because our God is in the miracle business.
